The weather
The distinct features of the islands are their great height in relation with their size. When the prevailing winds (NE trades) meet these high mountains, moisture is condensed bringing life-giving water to the windward side of the islands.
These are some of the factors which account for the difference in climate, from pine ferrets to sand dunes, lush green valleys in the North, to hot and dry desert in the south. The islands boast sunshine from dawn till dusk with beautiful sunsets tinged with magical colours. Don't miss all the wonders of nature on hand, you will see whales, dolphins, turtles, flying fish, etc. This sea is to be lived and experienced.
